Basic Buddhism Series

Practicing with the Six Paramitas: Generosity, Morality, Patience, Effort, Meditation, Wisdom

Robert Aitken reminds us "the Paramitas, or Perfections, are inspirations, not fixed rules. We honor them with our conduct, speech, and thought."

This will be a six month series, three classes in the Spring, three in the Fall, in which we invite these fundamental elements of Buddha's teaching to open us up to new possibilities and fresh inquiry. Each class will include a short presentation and then open discussion among participants. Copies of key texts and a list for optional further reading will be available in early March. This series is open to all who practice here, whether newcomers or experienced sitters.

Spring Dates: March 14, April 18, and June 13.

All classes at 12:15-1:30 PM, following the Sunday Schedule.  No charge for members, $10 for non-members.
Pre-registration is required. Commitment to the full series is encouraged.
