The fundraising committee thanks sangha for a joyous Sunday afternoon at our Benefit Performance!  John Sholle and Mark Minkler’s music making was truly heart-lifting, and Jeffrey Schlanger’s paintings of the event, reproduced here, are an expression of the bouyancy that touched us all.  Everyone’s care for each other and for the Empty Hand Zen Center was as effortless as the moon reflected on water.

We are nearing the end of what has been a very difficult year.  Economic loss has been only one of these difficulties and there is much prayer for those among us.   These are very tough times, and an event such as our Benefit Performance reminds us of the tremendous human capacity to be at ease and to take the time for our joy in each other.

In this one event we raised well over $2,000.00, and now that the annual fundraising drive has been launched we extend our efforts with optimism.  There are no salaries at Empty Hand, and the offerings provided clearly matter to those who have taken part.  Please do what you can and  give what you can to continue holding this pearl!
