Empty Hand Zen Center

By Train:
Take MetroNorth (New Haven Line) to New Rochelle.  Leaving the station,
walk to North Avenue and then turn right and walk (slightly uphill) to Huguenot Street. Cross Huguenot, take a right, and then walk one block to Lawton Street.

Driving:
Take I-95 to Exit 16 (North Avenue/Cedar Street),
Follow signs to North Avenue,
Turn left on North Avenue passing New Rochelle Train Station,
Turn right at second light on Hugenot Street (Route 1),
Immediate left on Lawton Street (Library Plaza),
Empty Hand Zen Center in on the left;

or

Take the Hutchinson River Parkway south to Lincoln Avenue,
Turn right at light on Lincoln Avenue,
Follow Lincoln Avenue to North Avenue,
Turn right on North Avenue and continue to Huguenot Street (Route 1),
Turn Right on Huguenot Street,
Immediate left on Lawton Street (as above);

or

Take Boston Post Road south (Route 1) from Rye,
When Route 1 splits (by Taco Bell), it becomes Huguenot Street,
Turn left on Lawton Street right after the light at North Avenue.

The Empty Hand Zen Center is located at 45 Lawton Street, set back from the street, at the end of a driveway on the left, shortly after turning onto Lawton.  There is a sign. Please park on Lawton Street or in the Library Lot and walk down the driveway. Parking is free only on Sundays; all other times bring quarters.  Do not park in the HSBC lot. They tow.

The downstairs zendo is completely wheelchair acccessible, with two ADA compliant bathrooms on the first floor. Two parking places at the end of the driveway can be reserved, with advanced notice, for the handicapped or anyone needing assistance.
