The Empty Hand Zen Center has a long-standing policy of not charging for any meditation program.  Practice opportunities and teachings are offered freely; donations in support of these opportunites are gratefully received.  Each person needs to determine the appropriate level of giving, dependent on individual finances and personal circumstances.

There are several ways of giving financial support to the Empty Hand Zen Center:

  • Annual year-end Fundraising Appeal - all gifts appreciated
  • Dedicated Donations - in memory or to honor friends and family
  • Suggested Donations for Non-Members (Evenings or Sundays), $10
  • Suggested Monthly Membership Fee (Annual Pledge) , $60
  • Classes and Childrens Groups for Non-Members , $10
  • One-Day Retreats
        members, $25
        non-members, $35
  • Weekend Sesshin
        members, $170
        non-members, $190

Since the time of Shakyamuni Buddha in ancient India, householders have supported Dharma teaching and practice.  Teachers give of themselves wholeheartedly; Sangha offers support from deepening gratitude and appreciation.  This natural reciprocity allows mutual growth.
